Dany Moreno was born in Seville ( Spain ). He began his musical studies aged 8 thanks to his father, Luis Moreno, a prominent musician and composer of international hits in the 70's. Dany Moreno entered being very young in the Conservatory of Seville, where he graduated in 2000 with brilliant marks and always under the supervision of the Percussion Head of Department.
He spent two years in Cuba (1998 and 1999) where improved his drums and percussion studies in the Escuela para la Superación de la Cultura y el Arte in La Habana. There he was a pupil of orchestra musicians as Irakere, Van Van, Issac Delgado or Paulo FG.
During his career in Spain he has performed several improvement courses of jazz, flamenco, Hindu music or latin-jazz with mentors as Alex Acuña, Efraín Toro, Dom Famularo, Adam Cruz, Horacio ‘el Negro' Hernández, Roberto Vizcaíno, José Luis Quintana ‘Changuito', Leroy Williams, Marc Miralta, Salvador Niebla and Keshab Kantí Chowdhury. Besides that, he has studied classic percussion courses with professors belonging to symphonic orchestras from Madrid , Barcelona , Tenerife, Córdoba or Seville .
In his professional career Dany Moreno he gives lessons of percussion in conservatories and music schools in the whole Spain ( Madrid , Valencia , Badajoz , Caceres , Huelva , Seville , Cadiz …). Apart from that he makes clinics and demonstrations in Spain together with other national and foreign musicians. One of those performances was celebrated in 2003 in Seville with Tam Tam Percusión: in that performance Dany Moreno starred together with Cindy Blackman (Lenny Kravitz's drummer).
As an instrumentalist Moreno travels around the world accompanying the duo Los del Río (well known by their international hit Macarena ). Besides he makes recordings and national and international tours with all kind of artists (Los del Río, Rosana, Melody, Valderrama, Triana, Alba Molina, Arturo Pareja Obregón, Tate Montoya, Raya Real, Los Centellas, Frank Bravo...)
Dany Moreno has his own Latin band, called 3+2SON, which has taken part during more than 10 years in the best known music festivals. With his band Moreno has shared scene with great musicians as Carlinhos Brown or NG La Banda.
Since some years ago he collaborates in studio and live with Rosana, having made together with her some tours in Spain , Latin America and the United States . Dany Moreno has created many original prototypes of instruments and percussion adaptors (flamenco cajons, cowbells, guiros, tambourines, pedals…). Some of those instruments are included in this DVD. Meanwhile he is a close collaborator of the famous instruments brand Duende Percusión, innovating and encouraging the spreading of this wonderful and versatile instrument: the cajon.
